What is Permanent Makeup?

Permanent makeup is a state-of-the-art form of cosmetic tattooing. The specialized techniques used for permanent cosmetics are often referred to as micropigmentation, micropigment implantation or dermagraphics. The cosmetic implantation technique deposits tiny individual implants of pigment into the dermal layer of skin to enhance facial features. The 3 most common procedures are eyebrows, eyeliner and full lip color.
How Is It Done?

Permanent cosmetic procedures are performed using various machines, including the traditional (or specialized) tattoo or coil machines; the pen or rotary machine and the non-machine or hand tool method.

What Can Be Done?

- Eyebrows - Eyeliner

- LipLiner - Full Lips

- Cleft Lip - Beauty Marks

-Skin Grafts

-Scar Camouflage

-Areola repigmentation

Who Benefits?

Women who:

Have sparse brows and are tired of brow pencils

Are tired of their makeup smearing

Are athletic, yet still want to look their best

Are allergic to conventional cosmetics

Wear contact lenses

Want to streamline their daily makeup rgime

Have colorless lips or uneven lip borders

Have had breast reconstruction surgery (can tattoo an areola)

Have scars and want them blended with their surrounding normal skin

Does it hurt?

Topical cream anesthetics are used to numb the area. Most people equate the sensation as similar to tweezing or waxing. Nancy provides instructions which further promote comfort. Not following instructions can promote bleeding and increase sensitivity.
Permanent makeup intrigues me, ..I dont know much about it..

You probably know of someone who has permanent makeup and they love it. Or you may have seen or heard stories of bad work. It seems that the media is more likely to expound on the horror stories rather than the beautiful work that can be permanent makeup.

What Could Help Me Know If Permanent Makeup Is For Me?

First you must determine if there is something about your face, or body that youre unhappy with. Say your brows are sparse, you use pencil every day and youre tired of it. You may want to look into what permanent makeup can do for you. If youve had breast reconstruction and the areola/nipple was not replaced, then a permanent makeup artist can tattoo one on, making a woman feel whole again. Napoleon Hill said We Refuse to Believe What We Dont Understand. Without further knowledge the average person cannot make an educated decision about whether or not something will work for them. This means learn as much as possible about permanent makeup prior to making a a firm decision about it.

What Things Should I Look For In A Technician?

Once you have decided that you want permanent makeup, find out more about the technician. See if they have a website; visit that website. See if the information provided makes sense to you. Did you learn anything from it?
Contact the technician, but instead of first asking how much it costs?, do this:

1) Learn as much about permanent makeup yourself before you talk to a prospective technician. Remember, this is your body/face you need to do your research and not rely only on the information they provide you.

2) How many procedures have they done?

3) What educational training have they had?

4) Do they have a portfolio of before and after photos you can review? Do you like what you see?

5) Does the technician seem interested in you?

6) Are they willing to provide answers to your questions?

7) Meet with her for a consultation.

8) Do you get a good feeling about this technician?

9) Ask how she keeps the procedure safe.

10) Then ask for costs. However, be advised this is not the industry to be looking for bargain basement prices...you will get what you pay for...trust me. Ive repaired work that was inexpensive to the client who was only price shopping.

Blazing Saddles 10 Wrap Tattoo Machine

Blazing Saddles 10 Wrap Tattoo Machine

We all know that in a given day at work, there are usually more tasks to be done than there is time to complete them. No one wants to add yet another task to the daily routine unless the task is going to improve business and enhance productivity. While paper shredding does not seem like a business builder, it sure can save time and money for businesses who do not want to end up in court or on the news.

In June 2005, the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act went into effect requiring all businesses (even the tiny ones) to destroy customer data and records when they are no longer needed. This law is enforced by the Federal Trade Commission and was enacted to help protect people against identity theft. The law indicates that any individual or business who "possesses consumer information for a business purpose must properly dispose of such information by taking reasonable measures to protect against unauthorized access to or use of the information in connection with its disposal." Companies who do not properly destroy sensitive customer information are subject to up to $2500 in fines per violation, up to $1000 in statutory damages per employee, actual damages if employee records are compromised, and class action lawsuits brought against them by customers or employees. In accordance with the law, customer records may be destroyed by burning or shredding. Burning is not a practical solution for most business owners, so shredding is by far the more logical and convenient choice.

Paper shredders come in two basic styles, cross-cut and strip-cut. Cross-cut shredders (also known as confetti-cut, diamond-cut or micro-cut) offer a more secure shred and a lower volume of waste although they tend to require more maintenance and may be more expensive. Strip-cut shredders (also known as straight-cut or spaghetti-cut) generate more waste and are less secure although they may be less costly to purchase and maintain.

In addition to these compelling legal reasons for equipping your office with a shredder, paper shredders also enhance productivity. Instead of employees having to worry about how to protect sensitive information that is no longer needed and wasting time seeking direction from their supervisors, employees can simply shred the documents and be done with it. Paper shredding also helps to maximize storage space around the office. When employees are through with documents, they can be shredded and disposed of instead of stacked up in dusty storage rooms.

Paper shredders protect more than your clients and employees; they also protect you. You can use your paper shredder to destroy records and communications you do not want others to see. Seeing your sensitive materials in the wrong hands can be embarrassing and costly. Given the alternative, a paper shredder is a meaningful investment. While you may be concerned about the price of a paper shredder, the knowledge that your employee records and customer information are protected is worth every penny. No one wants to end up in court trying to explain how or why confidential data were compromised.

Lean, Mean, Monster Machines (Monsters, Inc.)

Kids can proudly wear their favorite monster on their arms with this tattoo coloring book featuring Mike, Sulley, and the other stars of Monsters, Inc.!

Every profession has tools of the trade, and the tattoo industry is no exception. All the ink, flash, stencils and needles in the world would be worthless without the tattoo gun. Your tattooist will definitely know what you're talking about when you used the word "gun", but it's a generally thought of as an amateur term. Professionals usually just say "machine" or use the term "iron".

The first tattoo machines where based on something Thomas Edison (that's right, that Thomas Edison) invented in the year 1876 called the Autograph Engraver. The device was originally meant to be an engraving machine. The design was improved upon some years later by a man named Samuel O'Rielly who came up with and needle and rod system and ink reservoir. The modern day machine has evolved quite a lot since O'Rielly's version. The first apparatus resembling the current model was so heavy; it was often mounted to the ceiling with a spring so that the majority of the weight was taken off the tattooist's hand.

The version used today allows for much more precision in depth, saturation, everything. In fact, the art of tattoo application has become so precise that dermapigmentation, or applying permanent cosmetics to the delicate skin of the face and eyelids is possible and popular. The gun works on an alternating current system, similar to a sewing machine. The needle moves between 80 and 150 times per second, speeding up the process, cutting down on skin irritation and allowing the artist to work without moving very much so that his hand remains as steady as possible.

The needles are soldered into tubes in all different numbers and arrangements. The purpose in having a variety of configurations is the same as a more conventional artist having more than one paint brush. Each one produces a different effect. Some are for outlining, some are for shading to varying degrees and some create a solid fill. The general mechanics of a tattoo gun are fairly simply. In fact, some inventive person could put one together at home with parts of things you probably have lying around the house. There are several very good reasons you should never, ever do this, injury and disease to name just two, but since when has that stopped everybody?

* An ink pen

* Guitar string

* A tooth brush, or something similar (you'll see in a minute)

* The eraser from the top of a #2 pencil

* A small, battery operated motor, like what would be in a hand held cassette player

* Tape, or some sort of adhesive to hold it all together

* Some sewing needles

First you take four or five inches of guitar string and bend a little bit toward the end. Next, you remove the tube of ink from the pen. Cut it down to three or four inches long, then remove the brass ball at the end, making sure the opening created is large enough for a needle to pass through. Insert the needle into the tube. Then decapitate the toothbrush. Use a lighter, or some other flame to heat the plastic just until it's soft enough to bend, and then do so in an L shape.

Then, use your adhesive of choice to join the tube/needle combo to the long end of the L. Gently push the eraser onto the motor's shaft, getting it as centered as possible, then attach the motor to the short end of the L. Stick the bent end of the guitar string should be pushed (off center) into the eraser, and the other end should go through the tube and attached to the needle. The thinner the tube, the more control you will have over the gun. Now that you know how to manufacture a tattoo machine, DON'T!

There are many benefits of microdermabrasion, however the ultimate benefit is the instant gratification you can see at the end of your treatment. Your skin will appear new with a natural matte glow. Microdermabrasion provides a non-surgical approach to regaining a youthful appearance.

The benefits of microdermabrasion are that you can continue to have a youthful appearance regardless of your age or skin type, you will naturally assist your skin in opening the pores to breathe, and you will regenerate your skin's tissue structure.

A microdermabrasion mimics what your body does naturally, by helping to exfoliate dead skin cells located in your outermost layer of the epidermis. When these dead skin cells accumulate in the outer layer, it produces an aged look and results in wrinkles, sagging, and lines. In your younger days, your skin kept up with removing the dead skin cells, however, as we age this process slows.

A microdermabrasion is the process of removing dead skin cells to regenerate your underlying new skin. The machine uses a pencil-shaped wand attached to a vacuum, the wand will have either a diamond tip or it will blast granular crystals onto your skin. As the wand presses against your skin, it removes the outermost layer of the stratum corneum; this 'envelope' of skin is loaded with dead skin cells and bacteria.

To fully enjoy the benefits of microdermabrasion, a thorough preparation of washing and cleansing your skin prior to a treatment will enhance the result and remove unnecessary debris. On your first treatment, you will notice your skin is a fresh looking pink, a new layer of skin previously hidden by your old dead skin. You have essentially accelerated your skin's natural process of exfoliation and revealed a younger appearance.

After a few days, your new skin will still have a vibrant appearance that may last as long as a few weeks. If you want to continue to remove wrinkles or scars, you will want to repeat this procedure about once a week. The continued removal of dead skin cells will eventually erase your wrinkles or scars.

You can enjoy the many benefits of microdermabrasion, however the one that every person loves the most is the result of achieving healthy looking and younger skin.

Everyone wants a beautiful skin-- However, not everyone is naturally blessed with a clear complexion. One of the worst feelings a dog owner can have is discovering that their dog got let out by accident or heaven forbid was dog napped. There are a few options dog owners have to help ensure that they will be reunited with their lost dog. However, some options are better than others. It is common sense to make sure that your dog has a collar on and that they have an identification tag on it with your name and phone number. Unfortunately, dog collars can fall off or be taken off. Another option dog owners have is to have a microchip installed in there pet. Once again there are problems with this method as well. If the vet or whatever facility the dog is taken to does not have the machine to scan the dog then the chip is useless.

A very unconventional method that can be used to help reunite dogs and owners is tattooing. Yes, this procedure may sound a little cruel but it is a great way to mark your dog in the event you should get separated from them. In case you are wondering, tattooing a dog is done just like it is done for a human. The tattooing itself doesn't really hurt the dog as much as it does a human because they have more layers of skin, but it is still uncomfortable to them. The dog is more likely to be more afraid of the sound of the tattoo gun rather than the actually tattooing.

The best place to get your dog tattooed is on the inside of their leg or on their stomach. A lot of dog owner' do get their dogs ears and lips tattooed. But sadly, these can be removed if the dog's ears are clipped and their lips are clipped. It is also a good idea to keep this area shaved so that if the dog gets separated from you, whomever finds it will be able to see the tattoo clearly. It is a common practice for owners to have their social security number tattooed on the dog but if you are uncomfortable with that you can pick out a series of numbers. Also if you get your dog tattooed you need to be sure to register your pet with The National Dog Registry or Tatoo-A-Pet at 800-TATTOOS.
